DOGTOWN ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

The Event:

Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day is the go-to St. Patrick’s day event and that’s because each year, this historic part of town with deep Irish roots throws an iconic St. Paddy’s Day bash that’s become a beloved St. Louis tradition with the iconic 1.5 mile long parade, live music, family zone, food, and various bars open to all the festivities.

What We Did:

Blank Slate handles all logistics for the Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade and surrounding festivities (we mean all of them!), and serves as main point of contact for all key players involved in the execution of the parade and festival day-of. It’s a big event that covers a lot of ground, and it requires the full brunt of our scalable team of event experts to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Each year, Blank Slate works with a large group of local stakeholders (local businesses, city government, police and fire, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, vendors and sponsors). This is a big logistical challenge, as it involves closing over 1.5 miles of streets in a densely populated residential neighborhood and setting up security checkpoints at more than 25 guest ingress points. Plus, we always try to up the bar each year, adding new sponsors and expanding programming whenever we can!

The Outcome:

We are able to leverage strong working relationships at City Hall, across the neighborhood and with key operation vendors to secure all necessary permits, City support, neighborhood buy-in and operational needs–on time and under budget.

With that, Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day has been a success year after year with thousands celebrating in the heart of Dogtown. We’re so honored to have gained the trust of the Dogtown community and can’t wait to see what the future brings for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

One of the most well-known St. Patty’s Day events in the area, with thousands celebrating in the heart of Dogtown, year after year.

Blank Slate helped take the Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day festival to the next level. This is one of the largest one-day festivals in the region, and the Blank Slate team work well with our board as well as key neighborhood stakeholders to ensure the event is a success each year. From permitting with City Hall, to coordinating security and traffic control, to managing an airtight load-in and post-event clean-up–Blank Slate can really do it all.
